The 20 primary teeth already are present at birth in the baby's jawbones and then begin erupting as early as six months of age. They are shed at various times throughout
childhood to make room for the permanent adult teeth.

By age 21, all 32 of the permanent have usually erupted. Keep in mind that there are differences in the times when children's teeth erupt and are shed.
